With the Holidays approaching, the kitchen is not only the used for all the cooking and baking, but is usually the room everyone gathers into. Renovations can be so costly, so here are a few tips to give it a little revamp without breaking the bank.
Tip #1- Simply replacing the hardware in the kitchen can change the look dramatically. Just by switching out the hardware on the cabinets can give you an updated look affordably.
Tip#2- Create an accent wall in the kitchen. By simply painting a wall in a color other than your main choice can add so much character to the room. If painting isn't enough, take your largest wall and add shiplap, wood texture or even a brick texture. You will be amazed at the difference it will make.
Tip #3- Update your backsplash. Today, there are so many peel and stick options that look like tile, brick or wood and they are not overly expensive. Visit your local Home Depot, Lowe's or shop Amazon for amazing styles. This again will give your room a new look and add character.
Tip#4- Paint your cabinets. A couple of year ago, I was so tired of my wood cabinets. I had to persuade my husband, as a carpenter doesn't like to paint wood. LOL. But the transformation was amazing, I used a charcoal gray and was thrilled with it. Paint is inexpensive, just a lot of your time to sand, paint and put back. In the end, you won't be disappointed.
Tip#5- Add decor on the countertops. The use of trays, pitchers and greenery makes those areas a new focal point. Mix a little of the old with the new with some crocks and antiques for a more rustic look, shop flea markets, marketplaces and thrift stores. For modern, ceramics is a top trend. Inexpensive, take a look at Dollar Tree, Target and Walmart, they have a wonderful selection relatively inexpensive. Giving you the high end look for less. And as a bonus, you can out the decor for each season.
Until next time,
