Winter Decorating Ideas after Christmas

Hello Everyone,

We've all spent so much time getting ready for the Holidays, and here we are just a few days to go.  Hope everyone is enjoying the Christmas Season and not stressing.

So much goes into preparing for the Christmas Season, and if you're like me- we've started before Thanksgiving.  And now that it's so close, it gets a little depressing and not mention bare when we start taking down the Christmas Decorations.

Well the good news is, Winter is a long season and many of the wonder decorations we all use can stay up all Winter long.

It's perfectly okay to take the main Christmas Tree- or leave it up and keep just neutral elements.  Maybe just lights.  Here's an example of trees I keep out all winter.

I also leave out all my Winter Pines, Greens and Pinecones, Logs, Deer and such.  There's no reason why we can't enjoy the coziness of the decor all winter long.  I leave garland up on the mantle, but take down the ornaments.  I keep trays, boxes, tables & hutches decorated too.  I tend to keep the rustic neutral tones of browns, creams, whites, greens.  I do mix and blend my crocks, canisters, bowls and tins with the greenery and accent pieces.  I'm just partial to the more rustic farmhouse look.  If you're not rustic, it's okay to blend your modern white vases, bowls, etc. instead.  The fun part is, we decorate with what we love and that always warms the heart!

I am so partial to the browns, creams, whites mixed with woods and metals.  I put away my Christmas pillows and throws and bring out my faux fur and knitted blankets, throws and pillows.  Again, it gives such a cozy feeling.

I am reading that 2024 Farmhouse Styling Home Decor trends are leaning towards mixed textures, and browns, but also including the reds family.  The burgundy shades in particular, which I'm very excited about.  I used to be very primitive with the dark colors like burgundy, mustard and black.  It's funny how you change overtime.  I've always loved Burgundy, can't wait to see some of the new trending styles!!

On a last note, I do keep up and out Wintery Decor in the bedroom, but I tend to keep it very warm and neutral.  All the green and red gets packed away.  How about you?

Well, I'm off to shop for our Christmas Dinner and start the preparing.  I hope you all have a Very Merry Christmas!!

Until next time,

Jean
